Ayr Masonic Temple
Ayr Masonic Temple
Constructed around 1936, this impressive brick building stands out in the streetscape with its lofty ceilings and grand columns. It was built to replace the original galvanised iron structure. The Ayr Masonic Temple, a heritage-listed site, was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 25 February 2022.
When constructed, the Ayr Masonic Temple was one of the more impressive temples built in Queensland in the interwar period, especially given Ayr's relatively small population at the time.
