Burdekin Bridge Display - Gateway Visitor Information Centre
Burdekin Bridge Display - Gateway Visitor Information Centre
Completed around 1916, the former Home Hill Railway Station replaced a temporary wood and canvas tent structure that had served for three years. Renovated by Burdekin Shire Council in 2006, the building became home to the Burdekin Gateway Visitor Information Centre, which opened on 8 January 2007. The Centre showcases an extensive collection of photographs and historical items related to the construction of the Burdekin Bridge from 1947 to 1957.
