Ayr Courthouse
The Ayr Courthouse, a heritage-listed building, continues to serve its original purpose with court hearings held weekly. Constructed in 1935 at a cost of £2000 (approximately $4000), this red brick structure is distinguished by its arched entrance and decorative parapet. The building features wide, welcoming verandahs with timber balustrades and paired posts set on brick piers. Designed by Douglas Francis Woodcraft Roberts, it was built from 1935 to 1941 using day labor. The courthouse was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on January 13, 1995.
