Burdekin Sugar Rush
The Burdekin's premier running event, the Burdekin Sugar Rush, welcomes participants of all ages and offers 21km, 10km, and 5km courses.
The Burdekin Sugar Rush is the signature running event for the Burdekin Road Runners and Walkers Club. It stands as the only formal running race held in the Burdekin, featuring a half marathon that serves as the official Athletics North Queensland Championship race. The event draws running enthusiasts from across the North Queensland region, as well as recreational runners and walkers who are beginning their health and fitness journeys. Competitors can choose from the half marathon (21km), ten (10km) or five (5km) kilometre course.
Age Groupin
- Junior 5km: 11 to 16 years
- Senior 5km: 17 years to Masters
- 10km: 13 years to Masters
- 21km: 16 years to Masters
Entry cost per event:
- $85 fee for 21km
- $65 fee for 10km
- $45 fee for 5km
