Burdekin Rags to Runway
The Burdekin Rags to Runway, hosted annually by the Burdekin Artisans Community Association, showcases recycled clothing and accessories.
The Burdekin Rags to Runway event encouragse competitors of all ages to revamp new or second-hand clothing items into a wearable runway outfit within a strict budget. Entrants are required to purchase items either from second-hand organisations, local dress salons’ throw out racks or their own closet and to redesign them into a wearable runway worthy item, you'd be proud to wear.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- Ladies Race Wear Budget Challenge - (Maximum Spend $40.00)
- Evening Wear Budget Challenge (Maximum Spend $30.00)
- Budget Challenge - (Maximum spend $30.00)
- Open Section – Any Second-hand Garment/Fabric Items Re-modelled
- Junior Section - Ages up to 13 years.
- Junior Section – Ages 14 – 18 years.
- Accessories Section – Minimum 50% recycled items

- Entry fees & nomination forms to be paid & submitted by 5pm, Friday the 30th May 2025. There is a competition entry fee of $10 per entry.
- Before photos & description to be submitted by 5pm on Friday the 27th June 2025.
- Judging of the completed items at 1pm, Saturday, 12th July 2025.
